CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
The following Piedmont students auditioned and earned a chair in the
All-District Honor Band.  Over 1,000 students auditioned.
 
Mason Simpson - Baritone, 3rd Chair
Logan Rushing - Trumpet, 5th Chair
Leslie Elzey - Horn, 4th Chair
Creed Johnson - Horn, 7th Chair
Kristina Drye - Oboe (1st alternate)
 
Logan has also earned the opportunity of auditioning for the STATE Honor Band.

 
JANUARY
  • 16 – All-District AUDITIONS @ South Point HS (Gastonia)
  • 18 – BAND BOOSTER MEETING, 7pm @ PHS Band Room
  • 29 and 30 – All-District Band Clinic @ Lenior Rhyne College
o    30 – All-District Concert @ 2pm, all are welcome and it is FREE.
 
FEBRUARY
  • 12 and 13 – All County Honor Band @ Porter Ridge HS
    • Concert is Saturday, 1:30pm @ Porter Ridge HS Auditorium 
  • 15 - BAND BOOSTER MEETING, 7pm @ PHS Band Room
  • 23 – Piedmont Middle – Preview Festival at PHS Auditorium, 7pm
 
MARCH
  • 9 – HS County Preview Contest Performance @ Weddington HS – Time TBA
  • 11 -  7th and 8th Grade Band to Concert Festival (MPA)
  • 15-19 – Color Guard Auditions, Monday – Thursday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
  • 15 - BAND BOOSTER MEETING, 7pm @ PHS Band Room
  • 16 – Officer and Drum Major Auditions from 4pm – 5:30pm
  • 26 – High School Contest Festival @ North Lincoln HS – All Day\
  • 27 – PROM
 
APRIL
  • 5-9 – FLORIDA, Disney World Marching Band Performance
    • Perform at 10am in Magic Kingdom Parade on Tuesday, April 6
  • 24 – Solo and Ensemble at UNCC (optional)
  • 26 - BAND BOOSTER MEETING, 6:30pm @ PHS Band Room
  • 26 – Parent Night, 7pm in HS Band Room (2010 Officers must be in attendance)
 
MAY
  • 7 – First Marching Band Payment $150 (nonrefundable) due
  • 18 – Band Banquet, Awards, and SENIOR Recognition
o    Location, TBA
o    Dinner starts at 6:30pm, Awards will follow
o    Setup will be on Monday, May 17 @ 7pm.  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
  • 22 – NASCAR Race – LMS – All-Star Challenge – Times TBA
  • 25 – High School Spring Concert at 7:30pm
    • Monday, May 24  will be the MOVE IN and REHEARSAL, 7:30pm

The Piedmont High School Band is under the direction of Band Director Jody Lukac and Assistant Band Director Amy Vitulli.
